Child Protection Program

The safety and well-being of all participants in the Central Chesterfield Little League program is paramount. Like our parent organization, Little League International, CCLL promotes a playercentric program where young people grow up happy, healthy, and, above all, safe. CCLL strives to create an environment that is as safe as possible both on and off the field. We do not tolerate any type of abuse against a minor, including, but not limited to, sexual, physical, mental, and emotional (as well as any type of bullying, hazing, or harassment). Little League’s goal is to prevent child abuse from occurring through required screenings, training and education, awareness, and mandated reporting of abuse.

Adult Volunteer Mandatory Requirements:

1.  Little League Annual Background Check:  All volunteers are required to pass a yearly Little League Background Check.  Once you have registered as a volunteer, you will receive an email (usually within 24 hours of registration) from the Little League International Background System (JDP) with a link to complete your application online.  A report of completion will be available for the league to verify that you have passed the background check.  If there are any issues with the report you will be notified by the league and be given a copy of the report.  You will also need to provide proof of residency to the league.

2.  Chesterfield County Background Check:  All Managers/Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, On Field Volunteers and Board Members must pass a fingerprinted Chesterfield County Background check every three years (obtain a valid coaches card).  The card must be in your possession at all times while performing your volunteer work.
