Every year, CCLL fields All-Star teams to represent our league and showcase the talents of the very best that CCLL has to offer. There are two types of All-Star tournaments: District and Invitational. Between those two tournaments, CCLL typically provides the opportunity for over 1/3 of the league participants to represent our league’s talents on one or more of the ALL Star teams. District
District All Stars make up a single team that represents a specific age group of players. These teams compete in the official Little League International Tournament coordinated and run by Virginia District 5. Important Note - A player must submit an application online to be eligible for selection to a District All-Star Team by following this link HERE or the button below. Eligibility applications will be open between April 21st and May 4th. District All Stars are selected through a lengthy process that includes voting by the players in the respective league (with exception of 7 & 8 Year Olds), recommendation by the Managers & Coaches in the respective league, with the final roster spots selected by the District Team Manager through a tryout process. Tryout dates and locations will be published soon. Tournament Rules are used in lieu of the Regular Season Rules. District Tournaments are typically double elimination. This year Tuckahoe Little League is hosting all levels of the District Tournament. Specific game schedules should be available in early June. In 2024, CCLL plans to participate in the following District All-Star Tournaments:
- 7 & 8 Coach Pitch Baseball (7 & 8 who played at the Machine Pitch or Minor Level) - Huguenot Little League, Dates (Jun 14th thru June 23rd)
- 8, 9 & 10 Minor Baseball (8, 9 & 10 who played at the Minor or Major Level) - Tuckahoe Little League, Dates (Jun 14th thru June 23rd)
- 9, 10, 11 Minor Baseball (9, 10 & 11 who played at the Minor or Major Level) - Tuckahoe Little League, Dates (Jun 14th thru June 23rd)
- Intermediate 50/70 Baseball (12 & 13 who played at the Major, Intermediate or Senior level) – Tuckahoe Little League, Dates (Jun 14th thru June 23rd)
- Seniors Baseball (14, 15, & 16 who played at the Senior level) – Tuckahoe Little League, Dates (Jun 21st thru June 30th)
Practices will begin in early June. Winners of the 7 & 8 Coach Pitch tournament will continue to a State Sectional Tournament TBD. Winners of 8 - 10 Minor, and 9-11 Minor District Tournaments will advance to a State Tournament. Winners of 10-12 Major, Intermediate, Junior, & Senior will advance to a State Tournament with possible further advancement to a Regional Tournament and the Little League World Series. Invitational
Invitational All Stars make up a single team that represents a specific age group and play in Tournaments hosted by individual Little Leagues within the District. Important Note - A player must register to be eligible for selection to an Invitational All-Star Team by following this link HERE or the button below. Invitational All Stars are selected through a process that includes voting by the players in the respective league (with the exception of 6, 7 & 8 Year Olds), recommendation by the Managers & Coaches in the respective league, with the final roster spots selected by the Invitational Team Manager through a tryout process (with exception of the 6-7 Year Old Coach Pitch Team). These Tournaments typically use Tournament Rules, but may relax some of the requirements to allow more participation from all the players. The purpose of the Invitational Tournaments is to provide the opportunity for more players to participate in the Little League tournament experience. Invitational Tournaments are typically pool play with a guarantee of at least 3 or 4 games. In 2024, CCLL plans to participate in the following Invitational All-Star Tournaments:
- Coach Pitch Tournament (6 - 7 year olds) Bethlehem Little League, Approximate Dates (July 26th thru Aug 3rd)
- Machine Pitch Baseball (7-8 year olds) Huguenot Little League, Dates (July 12th thru July 20th)
- Minor Baseball (8-9 year olds) Atlee Little League, Dates (July 18th thru July 27th)
- Minor Baseball (9-10 year olds) Ashland Little League, Dates (July 20th thru July 27th)
Practices will begin in mid-June. While each Invitational Tournament will crown a Champion, the winning team does not advance to any further tournaments.
